Razorbill (Alca torda)

Size: 37 – 39 cm
Population at Anda: 30

Razorbills can usually be seen together with the guillemots but they are easy to recognize with their strong and wide beaks. When flying, they seem larger and heavier than what they actually are. Razorbills nest and lay one egg in crevices or under boulders. They have a special swimming technique: and raise their beak and tail when diving.
