Harbour porpoise (Phocoena phocoena)

ca 1,6 m and 70 kg

The harbour porpoise is the smallest of our toothed whales but probably the most numerous whale in the Norwegian waters. They can commonly be seen close to land and close to harbours, and inside fjords. Harbour porpoises feed on several different fish species, i.e. herring and capelin.
